Raven and Trevonn met at the young age of 18 in their freshman year of college at Jacksonville State University in Alabama. The two shared a drama class in the fall of 2008. Trevonn was having trouble with the class and looked for assistance, which is when he took the opportunity to befriend Raven. Upon their first conversation, Raven agreed to help him with the class. She also mentioned how she noticed Trevonn because of the Spider-Man backpack he wore and the fact that he would fall asleep in this class every time it was in session. Needless to say, Raven's assistance helped Trevonn pass the course. Over time, Raven and Trevonn developed a genuine friendship. Even when they weren't studying, the two would spend time together, cultivating their friendship. Raven would always cook and invite Trevonn over to watch a movie. They also loved to play video games; Super Mario on the Super Nintendo was their favorite. Some nights, they would lose track of time talking and playing video games and realize it was 3:00 a.m. on a school night. During this time, Trevonn also developed a relationship with Raven's daughter Dyani, who was three years old at the time.

During their four years in college, Raven and Trevonn became closer to each other than any other person in their lives, although they never dated while in college. The two were truly best friends. On August 10, 2012, Raven and Trevonn both received bachelor's degrees from Jacksonville State University. After graduation, Raven remained in Alabama to begin her career as a nurse while Trevonn went back home to Georgia. The time they spent apart was different because they were no longer down the street from each other. However, the distance did not stop them from communicating. Trevonn would always make time for every birthday and special occasion: he would always send cards and bring flowers. A few years later, Raven relocated to Atlanta, Georgia. The two were then closer and their relationship began to grow even more each year. The love between them became more evident as they went through situations that many would not believe.

Trevonn always expressed to Raven over the years that he would never get married or have children if it was not with her. It was a late night in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 8, 2017. Trevonn had plans to surprise Raven with a dinner proposal at an extravagant restaurant inside the premier resort they were staying in for the weekend. However, Raven was tired from the cross-country flight and wanted to take a nap, so Trevonn let her sleep and had to switch all of his proposal plans. Trevonn woke her up late that night, let her get dressed and took her out to see the city lights. At the beautiful Bellagio Hotel and Casino, Trevonn asked his best friend to marry him. Raven, with her beautiful, brown, tear-filled eyes, said yes! The couple is so excited for the wonderful things to come from this journey they are taking together!
