After moving from snowy ice cold South Dakota to sunny tropical South Carolina, I was ready for love! I was frustrated with the lack of quality prospects at the local hangouts. I decided to download the dating app Bumble to put myself out there. Within a week of swiping right, a girl named Razia popped up as a match. We instantly hit it off!

Within a few days on the app we exchanged phone numbers, so we could text for real. I was cautiously optimistic about the whole dating app scene, was Razia a real person? Was she actually a middle-aged man having a joke at my expense? There was only one way to find out for sure.

After exchanging texts for a few days, I found out that this alleged Razia lived more than 2 hours away. I invited Razia to go on a date being in the National Guard meant most weekends were tied up with drill. This meant Razia had to drive 2 hours for our First Big Date. I know....not your usual first date. Let's just say her mom was not impressed!

I was immediately awestruck when I first laid my eyes on her. I knew I had to be creative to win her over. She was someone special!

Our journey so far, has been filled with hilarious moments, crazy days, moving back to the cold midwest, new jobs, a wedding, a baby, and meeting new family and friends.
