Our Story

How We Met

Alex and I met at Alabama our freshman year through mutual friends, Virginia Lowry and Amanda Kim. Jump to our sophomore year, with some convincing, I invited Alex to my Tri Delta date party, Southbound. I thought of him as my one and only guy friend that I had at Alabama so I was very hesitant when we started entertaining the idea of going on a date. Our first "real date" however was at Blaze Pizza in Tuscaloosa the day after we lost the National Championship to Clemson.

The next few months, we continued to talk over Christmas break. When we returned for the spring semester, we continued to go on dates and go to date parties. We officially started dating in March!

Alex visted the lake before the summer! I went off to Madrid for two months while Alex stayed in Tuscaloosa to work. We can definitely relate to the saying, "distance makes the heart grow fonder"!

After the summer, we made it back to Tuscaloosa for our junior year!

During Covid, we were lucky that we got to spend so much time together! We spent time in St. Simon's, on the lake and in Madison. For the summer, we got jobs in Tuscaloosa.

We celebrated our graduations by taking a road trip out west! We made it to 10 national parks and traveled around 6,000 miles!

We did a lot in between, but I visited Madison for Easter! In May, I began the process of moving back to Athens while Alex anticipated his move to Birmingham! We started long distance and planned out our future visits to see each other.
