Located in a wonderful but highly-elevated, dry, and mountainous Colorado valley. Please remember, that the weather conditions change frequently, so have multiple layers handy; and at higher altitudes the sun is much stronger and the air is very dry, so sunscreen, chapstick and water are very important.

Steel Horse is at a staggering 8800 feet in elevation. This elevation increases your chance for altitude sickness, including dehydration and getting too turnt too easy. Start hydrating double than you’re used to a week out and bring electrolytes. Continue to hydrate all weekend. For everyone- watch your drink limit! Alcohol metabolizes much quicker at elevation.

Daytime in the mountains typically brings warm sunshine with temperatures often in the 70s-80s°F. While evenings and early mornings can drop into the 50s-60s°F, sometimes even cooler.

The ceremony will take place outside, and the reception will be inside the venues rustic lodge.

We kindly ask that you refrain from using phones and cameras during the ceremony to keep the moment intimate and just enjoy the moment with us.

As much as we love your pups, unfortunately they can’t join us at The Steel Horse venue. Thank you so much for understanding!

There is one designated smoking area on the property. It is located on the deck with the propane fire setup. Because of the location and time of year, fire is not permitted anywhere else on the property.

The closest town is Salida, this is 35 minutes from the venue. We highly recommend bringing food, beer and whatever else you want for the weekend with you. As a trip into town will take you over an hour to get there and back.
