Q + A

Best airport to fly into

Reno, NV

Is there an RSVP deadline?

Yes, please respond by no later than June 15th.

Is there a dress code?

Semi-formal, but dress for the warmer weather.

For those of us flying into Reno airport, is there a shuttle?

Yes, there is a shuttle service from Reno airport to South Lake Tahoe with drop off points at the major casinos located less than a mile away from the ceremony and reception location. The company is South Tahoe Airporter (southtahoeairporter.com) and the rates are $59.50 per adult and $35.58 per child for a round trip.

Where should we stay?

We have several hotel blocks availed at nearby hotels (look under “travel” tab). If that’s not your style, there are numerous Airbnb’s nearby to choose from.

What will the weather be like?

80°-90° during the day. Cooling into the 60s after sunset.

Is there parking available at the wedding venue?

There is, but it is first come first serve. It is near a private beach and parking may be scarce since it is a weekend. There is a shuttle service provided by the hotel that runs until 11pm for within 2 miles. Just call the front desk, 1-855-700-5263, and tell them that you are with the Smith-Potter wedding.

If we have a wedding gift should we bring it to the wedding?

There will be an area at the wedding reception for gifts but, if possible, please send to our home address.

If there are food allergies what is the best way to let you know?

There is a spot on the RSVP section of this website where you can fill out this information or always feel free to call us!

I'm visiting from out of town. What can I do/see while I'm there?

Besides the hundreds of shops and restaurants, there are over 72 miles of shoreline around the lake, where you can do everything from paddlboarding and kayaking to jet skiing and parasailing. If you'd prefer to stay on land, there are numerous hiking trails within a few miles from the downtown Lake Tahoe or maybe even a trip up the Gondola to get a mountain peak view of the entire lake!
