Our story started on December 1st, 2021. Two kids who swiped right on Hinge decided to meet at P.J. Whelihan's for some pretzel nugs, buffalo cauliflower, and a few Bud Lights. One was 20 minutes early, full of energy from not texting all day, and the other was 20 minutes late, thinking of ghosting the fool who didn't text her all day. We talked for a few hours about everything we had in common, all while Dylan watched the MSU basketball game over Becca's shoulder the whole time. When it was time to say goodbye, it was a side hug in the parking lot that would be the send-off of the last first date for either of us.

On October 7th, 2023 we woke up on a Saturday morning with Becca just wanting to relax on the couch for the day after a long stressful week. Little did she know that we were on the culminating day of a months long journey of engagement planning. Despite her protests, Becca got herself ready to run some errands and then head to the "party" at Dylan's friend's house. Along the way, Dylan wanted to stop off for a early afternoon walk through Washington Lake Park. As they leisurely strolled by a pond, Dylan distracted Becca by pointing out the ducks swimming around. As she gazed at the ducks and fish in the pond, Dylan dropped to one knee and she said "Yes!"
