Craig and Rebecca met working on the same hospital unit in Evansville, Indiana. Rebecca did not believe in dating coworkers--as it typically leads to no good end. Naturally, therefore, they started dating a week before Craig moved to Colorado. (After Rebecca nonetheless worked to 'entrap' Craig with baked goods throughout the preceding 51 weeks. . .)

For the next four years, Craig honed his cross-country driving skills, making the 2,000-mile roundtrip trek a couple of times most months--supplemented with Rebecca flying out to Colorado to enjoy "study breaks" and mountain adventures.

Finally, Rebecca moved to Colorado, where the rest of the story continues to be written. Their Pug/Pomeranian/Yorkshire Terrier, Affe, who they adopted from a dear friend weeks before their Colorado chapter began, continues to narrate the antics of "the Humans" as they struggle to understand the importance of frequent nap times and what constitutes a sufficient, ready supply of chicken nuggets.
