Cameron (he/him) and Rebecca (she/her) met in 2019 at a trombone party hosted by mutual friends who were in the Hawkeye Marching Band. Cameron was talking about Belegarth (medieval combat society with foam weapons) to a group of people that peaked Rebecca's interest. Cameron and Rebecca decided to begin practicing using the nearby rec center. He did not think Rebecca would follow through because so far no one else committed. She surprised him by showing up on time and ready to spar.

From there their friendship grew leading to full weekends playing Diablo III and eating Domino's. Cameron also helped Rebecca learn how to play Dungeons and Dragons (D&D), which is still a big part of their relationship to this day. In 2020 he moved to Arizona and at this point Cameron and Rebecca realized how much they cared about each other, not romantically (yet).

While he was in Arizona she would message him everyday and they would watch movies together over FaceTime. They became closer than ever, leading to Cameron expressing his feelings for her over a call. Rebecca jumped on this opportunity and planned a trip to visit Cameron in Arizona where they hiked, saw a ghost town, and went to an aquarium. After this first successful visit they began dating February 21th, 2021. Throughout 2021 Cameron and Rebecca would visit each other as often as possible until Cameron moved to Minnesota and eventually Iowa.

Cameron surprised Rebecca with a proposal on Dragon Point at Black Canyon of the Gunnison on August 4th, 2022. Rebecca and Cameron continue their adventure together in Iowa City with plenty of sparring, (D&D), road trips, Baldur's Gate III, Diablo III, and Domino's Pizza.
