On May 14th, 2016, Becky was at Six Flags Great Adventure with the team she coached, preparing for their annual competition. Due to unfavorable weather conditions and a yellow punch buggy lacking air conditioning, Becky decided to head home early. This early departure allowed her to make it to her friends Krystle and Kate's birthday celebration.

A few hours into the party, Becky turned to her friend Jill and let her know she noticed a handsome guy sitting at the bar with Krystle's husband Joe. In true friend fashion, Jill took it upon herself to make the introduction. She walked over, poked Mike in the belly, and announced, "My friend thinks you're cute." Mike's immediate response was, "Does she have any tattoos?" That simple question marked the beginning of something special.
