Our Story

Rebecca and Miles met in middle school at Bishop Seabury Academy in 2010. One of Miles' first memories of Rebecca was when they were sitting in their 7th grade English class, and Rebecca had just gotten back the first essay she's ever written. She got a D and started crying in the middle of class. Miles never thought that the girl that cried in front of him in English class would be the woman he'd marry thirteen years later. Rebecca and Miles ran in the same crowds throughout middle school and high school and often found themselves at the same parties and group hangouts. However, in the summer of their junior year of high school, Rebecca and Miles started to connect. But things just didn't work out, so they decided to remain friends. Toward the end of their senior year, they reconnect and begin spending a lot of their time together. They bonded over the MTV show Are You The One, and Rebecca would come over to Miles' house every week to watch the newest episode. They also bonded over their love for socks and Ghost Adventures. Miles and Rebecca spent the majority of their summer before college together. They just enjoyed being friends and getting the most out of their summer before Miles went away to Kentucky for college.

Rebecca stayed in Lawrence, went to The University of Kansas, and studied Art History and Classical Antiquities. Miles went to the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky, where he studied Marketing and Computer Information Systems. At the end of the first semester of their freshmen year of college, Rebecca and Miles decided to commit to each other. Which means they committed to a long-distance relationship. This proved very difficult, and they had to work through many hardships. But those hardships strengthened their love and proved to each other they could make it through anything. They spent many hours texting and falling asleep on facetime with each other. Finally, in 2020 Miles graduated from Louisville and returned to Lawrence, where he eventually moved in with Rebecca and her parents. That's a whole other story. After spending three and a half years long distance, it finally started to feel like Rebecca and Miles were in a real relationship.
