Love at first sight - Rebecca and Chris met in August 2008. They locked eyes in their very first class of college at St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas. It was exciting learning more that first day of classes that they would be in the same degree plan and quickly became great friends. Soon they began to date and ended up completing a 2 year graduate program together before getting engaged.

On Rebecca's 24^th birthday, Chris and family took Rebecca out for a wonderful birthday dinner at a Japanese Steak House. After the meal, servers brought over dessert and sang "Happy Birthday" to the birthday girl. A fortune cookie was neatly placed on top of the dessert. Upon opening the cookie, there was no fortune, but instead a diamond ring. Almost instantly, all of the lights went out except the one directly over Rebecca. Chris then dropped to one knee. With all of the restaurant guests witnessing the excitement, she said yes as they cheered and clapped. A day both will never forget.
