Ed and Rebecca met at Fairview Village Church during a Singles Group Bible study that Kim and Rebecca were leading. Rebecca was single, and not interested in a relationship. Ed is widowed and was actively looking for someone to do activities with. Ed and Rebecca went to Washington D.C. for their first trip together over Presidents Day weekend and Ed proposed.
