Weather permitting - the ceremony will be held outside along the back of the building in their gardens. Cocktail hour will be in the same area while the bridal party and immediate family have photos taken on site. The reception will be held inside the banquet hall. Weather reports will be watched leading up to the wedding and any changes needed to be made to this plan will be relaid to guests.

What type of food will be served at this event?

During cocktail hour there will be past hors d'oeuvres as well as displays of meats, cheeses, fruits, veggies, dips, etc. This will be followed by a sit-down dinner including soup, salad, and a duel entree of chicken and beef served with potatoes and vegetables. Dessert will be a sweet buffet as well as an ice cream bar.

How will dietary restrictions be handled?

Please inform the Bride ASAP if a dietary restriction is an accommodation you need! We currently have a separate kitchen handling gluten free preparation for one and can extend as needed and as known.

Will there be an open bar?

Have you met the Bride and Groom? Obviously there will be an open bar! Cheers 🥂

My invitation does not include my children? Was this a typo?

Unfortunately, weddings are quite pricey. One way to help cut costs with the Brides extensive family was to cut anyone under the age of 18. This was also a two-fold decision since the couple had chosen to have explicit music and an open bar which is not the best environment for children. As we love all of you and your children, we also ask you to remember both the Bride and Groom are educators and would like the night to be all about the adults. Consider this wedding an excuse for a much needed date night!

Am I I allowed to bring a plus one?

Please see your invitation for this answer. If there is a plus one on the invitation - then yes! If it is solely addressed to you without an additional plus one - then unfortunately no you may not. Another way the couple had helped with costs is to limit plus ones to a set criteria. We apologize for any inconvenience.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

The ceremony will begin at 5:30pm sharp. Doors will open at 4:30pm. There will only be a set number of chairs available and those will be first come first serve. There will be tables set up for cocktail hour that remaining guest may migrate around. Please do not attempt to arrive late for the ceremony. This will disrupt the procession.

Where is this banquet hall located?

Column Banquet Hall is located at 2221 Transit Rd Elma, NY 14059. The building has Alton’s Restaurant in the front and the Banquet Hall in the back. Please see the “Travel” tab in the drop down menu for more information.

Where do I park?

I’m coming from out of state - will there be accommodations?

Of course! Please see the Travel & Accommodations tab for more information! Also - please inform the couple if you do book a room so they can keep track of how many rooms are left!

Will there be a shuttle?

There will be a shuttle offered from the hotel to the venue and back at the end of the evening. Times of departure will be listed closer to the wedding date.

Can I I take pictures and post to social media?

The couple has asked for NO phones to be out during the ceremony. There will be a designated time once the bride is down the aisle for guests to capture a photo, but otherwise it is asked to keep your phone off and stored. The couple has hired amazing photographers and promise there will be plenty of pictures of the day. As for cocktail hour and reception, please feel free to capture all the amazing moments the night will bring. It is asked you do not post photos of the couple until after they have.
