With the weather, are there any location changes?
YES! We are getting married at the Poinsett Hotel now instead of the church. Please come down to the lobby and you will directed further.
What is the requested attire for the wedding?
Our wedding is “Black Tie Preferred.” If you already own a tuxedo or formal gown, we kindly encourage you to wear it. However, we certainly do not expect anyone to rent or purchase formal attire if you would prefer not to.
Where would you recommend we have breakfast or brunch the day of the wedding?
While there are many wonderful restaurants steps from all downtown accommodations, we highly recommend you plan to enjoy breakfast at Spoonbread, the onsite restaurant at the Poinsett Hotel. Since the room block is here, we hope this will make it easy for you to meet up and spend time with family and friends attending the wedding!
Other than Spoonbread, where do you suggest we dine while we are in town?
There are so many great restaurants downtown and within walking distance from the hotel to choose from! Some of our favorites are CAMP Modern American Eatery, Soby's, Nose Dive, Scoundrel, Pomegranate on Main, BrickTop's, Jones Oyster Co., Jack Brown's Beer & Burger Joint, Hall's Chophouse, Sassafras Southern Bistro, SOCIETY Sandwich Bar & Social Club, and Tropical Grille. Additionally, Davani's, located a very short drive from downtown, is a long-time family favorite and top of our list!
What should we do about parking at the church for the ceremony?
Please use the parking lot directly across from the church sanctuary's front stairs at the corner of Richardson & Buncombe Street (also called North Street). Although it appears you must pay, the parking lot is FREE for church guests for both the ceremony rehearsal and wedding.
