<blockquote>Hello Friends and Family, Our adventure first began fourth of July weekend in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, on the island of Maui. With the ordering of a tropical mai tai our eyes first met and our futures became intertwined... and so began a (very expensive!) long distance relationship. After months of traveling back and forth, to and from, island to mainland, we settled together in the state of Oregon. Since then we have discovered that our relationship is more fabulous without the distance, and time only growing us closer still. Now our plane excursions get to be had together, instead of searching for each other! No matter lazy days, rugby/softball days, or pure shenanigan days, there is never a dull moment. The proposal story is much like our everyday lives, planned but mostly spontaneous. I, Becky, had planned to propose to Hannah on Fourth of July, being that it was her favorite holiday and when we first met. Fireworks, plus a proposal... it was going to be a story book worthy! However, that is not the story of how we got engaged. Lets back up one week before that Fourth of July weekend. We had a great day full of shenanigans, including a Pub Golf Crawl with our rugby mates. Through our travels between holes (pubs) Hannah handed me her promise ring, which consequently by pub four she forgot doing so. After using the washroom at hole number four she entered a frantic state, quietly asking some of our friends to help her look for the missing ring. They emptied the garbage, searched the stalls and floor, and even took apart the sink drain resulting in a soon to be flooded pub. Me being oblivious to the situation was enjoying my beer and conversation, but when it came time for the next hole I had realized that I had not seen Hannah... in a long while. I went to check the washroom but our teammates loyally blocked the way. With a little clarifying on the situation I rushed in to find Hannah standing in inches of water, crying and apologizing. The look on her face was heartbreaking. Wanting nothing more than to make her smile, I dropped to one knee, water and all, and purposed. Tears of sadness turned into happiness, and we celebrated our engagement the rest of the night. Let the next adventure to begin! Hotel Rooms at Cooper Spur:Hotel reservation are different than at a normal hotel. If you would like to Reserve a room at Cooper Spur you have to go through Becky. Right now we have the whole Resort reserved but if rooms do not fill up by April 30th, 2017, it is released to the public. Please contact Becky bckysmi@aim.com, call or text at (707)208-9444, Since some rooms are non traditional room, we suggest that you get a group of people together and share a cabin, which will make the rooms more affordable. If you are going to go in on a cabin or room with someone, please pick a captain/leader to contact Becky and that person will be responsible for calling Cooper Spur and putting a deposit down.The rooms are as follows: Deluxe Cabin #5- sleeps 8- (1 king, 1 queen, 4 twins) pets allowed $399.00/nightRoom 15- sleeps 4- ( 2 queens) no pets $199.00/night$50 deposit prior to April 30th, 2017. This will remove the room from your general block and put the room in their name. The deposit will confirm the reservation and lock in the 10% wedding discount. Hiking nearby, see attachments:Tamanawas Falls is a great hike and is super close to Cooper Spur. It is an easy hike to a stunning water fall.If anyone is interested in a nice hike and some swimming in a semi-secluded lake, I would suggest Mirror Lake (<a href="http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/mthood/recarea/?recid=53430">http://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/mthood/recarea/?recid=53430</a>). Mirror lake is a 1 mile hike (2 miles round trip) to a pristine Alpine Lake with a view of the mountain. It can get busy in the summer on the weekends, but on a midweek day it's a great option.Trillium Lake is also a fun swimming option on Mount Hood – it is easier to access (but a bit busier) and a little closer to Cooper Spur Resort (<a href="http://www.oregonhikers.org/field_guide/Trillium_Lake_Loop_Hike">http://www.oregonhikers.org/field_guide/Trillium_Lake_Loop_Hike</a>). Trillium Lake has a nice loop trail that is quite easy and offers great views.Some of these hikes require Northwest Forest parking permits – these can be purchased at the front desk of Cooper Spur, or any ranger station on Mount Hood.Mt Hood Meadow's trails, including some cool hikes like Umbrella Falls. Mt Hood Meadows offers private guided hikes. If you would like a price quote for this, let me know!Here are some links to popular activities.
