Our Favorite Beaches

Picture of Our Favorite Beaches

South Palm Beach County

Boynton Inlet - 3 parking lots make this the easiest beach to go to. You can fish in the intracoastal side or go to the beach by crossing the street. You can go to the North or South side once you cross the street. We like the North Side with the pump – that side is dog friendly! Must keep your dog on a leash though.

Hammock Beach - A local’s beach. It has very few parking spots. Zak and Becky's favorite beach - we took our engagement photos here!

Gulfstream Beach - We also love this beach! There is limited parking but it is worth it. Stop at our local surf shop, Nomad, then get a sandwich and a giant pickle from Seaside Deli (next door).

DO NOT GO TO LANTANA BEACH - the restaurant Dune Deck is good, but Lantana Beach is the worst beach in Palm Beach County.

North Palm Beach County

Peanut Island – A staple in Palm Beach County. You must take a boat or kayak (you can barrow ours we have LOTS) to get here, but there is a ferry you can take. I would suggest purchasing a Tiki Cruise to get there. It is a Tiki Bar that is also a boat and usually all you can drink. The best snorkeling in our area is under the Blue Heron Bridge that is right near the island.

Palm Beach – It is a touristy beach but it’s not bad. You pay to park on the streets all throughout Palm Beach Island. It is worth it if you want to walk around and see Palm Beach Island.

Juno Beach – In Jupiter the beaches are lined with Showers and they each are assigned a number. We let each other know where we are on the beach by saying the shower you access the beach at. Zak and Becky like to park at Ocean Cay Park. Juno has the MOST beautiful water in Palm Beach County. These beaches are super dog friendly so you will see lots of cute puppies! Juno/Jupiter is worth the drive. It is the nicest part of Palm Beach County – other than Palm Beach Island.

Blowing Rocks – very cool beach but not the best beach to relax and swim at.

Sea Turtle Rescues

Loggerhead Marinelife Center

This is right next to Juno Beach so make a day of it! You MUST go here. It is amazing and just went through a huge renovation. They help rehabilitate sea turtles and then release them back into the ocean! If you follow them on Instagram you can see when they are going to release a turtle and can watch!

Gumbo Limbo Nature Center

A Smaller version of Loggerhead in Boca. They do amazing work and have a partnership with Becky’s alma mater FAU.

Areas Worth Checking Out in Palm Beach County

Picture of Areas Worth Checking Out in Palm Beach County

Lake Worth Beach – Zak & Becky lived here for many years. It is a LGBTIQA+' safe heaven city and we really love that. The downtown area is small but cute.

Rosemary Square – The city just renamed and renovated this area. Lots of restaurants and stores. The Wishing Tree is very cute and lights up!

Clematis – Next to Rosemary Square. It is the nightlife hub of West Palm Beach. There are lots of clubs and restaurants. When you walk down to the water there is usually an event happening.

Atlantic Ave – the downtown area in Delray. Parking can be hard, but it has clubs and lots of restaurants. There is always an event happening there.

Lighthouse District of Jupiter – The Jupiter Lighthouse is a big deal here. If you go to this area most of the bars and restaurants have a view of it. Square Grouper has our favorite view (good drinks and bad food). Guanabanas Restaurant has good food and live music, but here are lots of new restaurants we haven’t tried yet here. Worth the drive!

Riverbend Park - You can rent kayaks, canoes, and bikes at Riverbend Park. This is the best kayaking in Palm Beach County, and that is coming from semi-professional kayakers. It's beautiful and shaded and we just love it here.

What to Do Outside of Palm Beach County

Hollywood

Yellow Green Market – This market is only open on the weekends. It is an experience. You will find every single type of food in the world here. Go hungry!

Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino – It’s a casino shaped like a guitar, need I say more?

Old Florida Book Shop – If you like old books you must check this place out! It looks like it is the bookstore from Harry Potter. It is right across the street from The Field Irish Pub and Eatery, a place we enjoy!

South Miami

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens - Historic estate with formal gardens & sculptures, grottos & circa-1914 mansion turned museum.

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden - Sizable horticultural destination with a guided tour via tram, water features & a butterfly exhibit.

Homestead

Homestead is very special to us. We go often and make a day of it. Here are our favorite places down there:

Robert Is Here Fruit Stand – Famous for their milkshakes and smoothies. Becky is obsessed with the Mamey Milkshake. They carry ALL in season tropical fruit. Try something you have never heard of before! I bet you will like it. Robert himself is always there and loves to give out free fruit samples.

Fruit & Spice Park – This is Becky’s favorite place in Miami. It is just incredible! It is a 37-acre botanical garden & park containing over 500 varieties of fruit, vegetables, spices & herbs. Take the free tour and you will learn so much and get to try lots of interesting fruit! You are allowed to eat ANYTHING that has fallen from the trees – so cool!

Schnebly Redland's Winery & Brewery – They make wine and beer. We always end our homestead day here. We like the Cat 3 Red and the Beach Rose the best. You can purchase wine or beer and roam the property. Their restaurant is very good!

Our Favorite Restaurants

Picture of Our Favorite Restaurants

Lake Worth Area

Yen's Kitchen – Becky’s absolute favorite restaurant in South Florida. It is a Vietnamese Street Food restaurant run by the sweetest family ever. Their Bánh mì, Pho, and street drinks are unbelievable. You must try the desserts in the fridges, everything is amazing here. Becky comes here every birthday and anytime she can convince Zak it is okay to eat soup in 90-degree weather. They will be one of the caters at the reception!

The Hive – We come here at least once a week. We usually go by boat as it is on the lake we live on. They have happy hour every day and good wings.

Vincent's Bistro French Bakery – Run by a super nice family. Everything is fresh and delicious!

Bennys On the Beach – A Lake Worth Staple – go during the week to avoid crowds. They have good Bloody Mary’s.

La Placita Mexican Food - Our Favorite Taco Spot

Old Key Lime House - Great views, live music, and vibes, but just okay food, we used to live down the street.

Ravish - On the same street as Keylime. Amazing food and drinks, and they have a burlesque brunch. It is a little pricey but worth it. I would go to Happy Hour at Keylime and get dinner at Ravish.

Dune Deck - Great breakfast on Lantana Beach. The beach sucks here but the food doesn't! It is cash only and you have to pay to park at the beach!

Boynton Beach Area

Sweetwater – They have good cocktails and a speakeasy vibe.

Driftwood – Owned by a chef and they use local ingredients. This is Becky’s favorite restaurant in Boynton Beach.

Tokio Ramen – Affordable and Authentic ramen

Two Georges Waterfront Grille and Banana Boat - 2 separate restaurants but they are so similar and right next to each other. They are on the Intracoastal and they are great happy hours. Becky went her on her 21st birthday.

West Palm Area

Pat GoGo – The BEST sushi in Palm Beach County maybe ever. This is our favorite place to eat out. They know our order by heart. It is run by the nicest family. We love them we love this place. It is not fancy, but I promise the food is AMAZING.

Sassafras – Fancy southern food. They typically have a promotion going on so it is not too expensive. It is right off of Clematis so right in the heart of downtown.

Sailfish Marina Resort – A seafood restaurant with a view. This is where the fishermen sell their fish and eat. They also have a shuttle to Peanut Island here.

The Catch – Technically in Gardens not West Palm but it is not that much further. It is a VIBE. All outdoor seating under a tiki bar. We love their sangria. They have sushi and Mexican food, weird but really good and fresh.

Jupiter Area

Little Moir’s Food Shack / Leftovers – Own by the same people and basically the same place. The best fish in Palm Beach County. Worth the price and the drive. We promise you will love it!

U-Tiki / Lucky Shuck / 100 North – These all have Lighthouse Views.

Guanabanas – You cannot see the lighthouse but they have the best vibe and always live music.

Dune Dog Café – A staple here. Yes it is a hot dog place, but Key West themed haha.

Brass Ring Pub – Best Burgers in Palm Beach County. There is another location in Royal Bach Beach where Becky grew up.

Captain Charlie's Reef Grill - Amazing seafood in a diner, this is the local's favorite place.

Fort Lauderdale/Miami Area

The Field Irish Pub and Eatery – Authentic Irish pub. It is really cool inside and outside. A lot of people go here before a hockey game.

TEN TEN Chinese Seafood Dim Sum Restaurant 天天渔港 – In Sunrise, so west Fort Lauderdale. It is an authentic Dim Sum restaurant. They even push the carts around! It is an experience!

Flour & Weirdoughs – Super cool bakery on Key Biscayne. Bakery during the day and wine and pizza bar at night!

Boaters Grill – A Cuban Fish place on the water. Order the whole Hog Fish, it can feed at least 2 people. After you eat walk the path to the bar The Cleat. You can see Stiltsville in the distance – where we are having our ceremony!

Schnebly Redland's Winery & Brewery – They have a really good restaurant here as well. Becky loves the stuffed avocado and Zak loves the Guava wings.
