This story began way back in 2012, when freshman David stepped foot inside Chantilly High School for the first time and saw the prettiest girl he had ever seen in his life. The only problem was that she was a Senior, and he was too scared to introduce himself. David patiently waited, and 6 years later he decided to send this girl a message out of the blue to ask if she still lived in the area. To David’s surprise, she responded and said yes! This struck up a conversation between the two. After messaging back and forth for a few weeks, David built up the courage to ask her on a date, and Becca accepted! On December 20th, 2018, David picked Becca up and took her to their first date at Sweetwater Tavern for some Christmas Ales and Ozzie Rolls.

As it turned out, the two were an instant match. The next few years consisted of many trips back and forth from Chantilly to Baltimore (where David went to college at Johns Hopkins University), date nights, family vacations, delicious food, and special memories.

In 2021, David got a job offer in Northern California. Becca was thrilled! Her whole family had since moved back to her original hometown of San Diego, CA and Becca was excited to be closer to them. In June 2021, they packed up and made their move from Northern Virginia to San Francisco, CA. David and Becca fell in love with SF, and moving to a new city brought them even closer together.

In February 2024, they had planned a weekend trip down to San Diego to celebrate Becca’s dad’s birthday. Becca was clueless that behind the scenes, David was planning a surprise proposal to kick off the weekend. On February 23rd, David told Becca that they had plans to watch the sunset on the beach with his friends. When they showed up to a secluded beach in Carlsbad, there was no one to be found, just a romantic picnic set up. David immediately got down on one knee and popped the question. Becca was completely shocked and absolutely over the moon! David had organized a surprise after party at Becca’s parent’s house with her family and friends. It was a perfect night and weekend filled with love.

From their very first date 6 years ago in Chantilly, Virginia to their happy new life in San Francisco, California, David and Becca’s story has been filled with weekly in-n-out date nights (their favorite!), intense board game match ups, lots of travel, ski trips, scooter rides, and more love than you can imagine. They are thrilled for the next chapter as husband and wife!
