February 17th, 2022 is the day I first met Nate. I came into Esporta to work my first closing shift at the Front Desk. Will, Nate’s best friend, told me that Nate would be training me until his shift ends at 7pm. Nate came up to the Front Desk and never left my side that night (staying way past the time his shift was supposed to end mind you). Nate strategically turned training conversations into getting to know you questions. Ironically enough we had the same answer for each question. We both felt like we have known each other for a long time. Before Nate left that night, he managed to find a way to get my number for work related stuff. As soon as he left an ice storm started, Nate made sure to text me to make sure I got home safe & sound. After receiving that text, I had a feeling Nate was interested in me but I didn’t make it easy for Nate…….

The next day I came in for my Friday night closing shift. Jack and Rachael were at Crocker Park for date night & decided to pop in. Sure enough there was Nate and I at the Front Desk talking away. Nate introduced himself to Jack and even offered him a free gym pass. When they left Esporta, Rachael texted me saying “why does Jack love that guy and want you guys to date.” (Jack, you are one of the main reasons why we are together today, so thanks!). On my way home from the gym, Nate texted me which led to us talking for the next two days. Things escalated quickly when Nate asked me out on a day just two days after meeting me. I kindly told him to wait 30 days……sure enough he did.

Our first date was on March 19th at Winking Lizard. We sat there for hours talking and placing bets on March Madness games. However, the night didn’t end the way Nate had planned. He walked me back to my car and asked to see me again. I told him “yes but please don’t read into this.” Nate was devastated, but continued on pursuing me persistently. We went on dates for four months until I decided to make our relationship official on June 4th.
