Miles and Rebekah met while working at Market Street in 2016. Rebekah started in March as a checker and Miles started in November as a sacker. They worked well with each other and Rebekah thought Miles was one of the few competent teenage employees there. Since the start of Miles working at Market Street, he had always thought Rebekah was cute and he wanted to get to know her. Unfortunately, the timing never really worked out, partially due to the shifts not lining up or Rebekahs tendency to disappear for months at a time for band season. In the spring of 2018 the group of employees that both Rebekah and Miles had gotten close with started to hang out and go to movies. Several of the employees were about the graduate high school and go off to college. Through this group, Miles realized that he liked Rebekah a lot, but did not want to start anything or really get to know her since he only had a few months until he was headed off to become an engineer at A&M. One day, while Rebekah was helping sack during a busy weekend shift, an extremely rehearsed small talk line Miles gave to a customer changed his life in a way he could never have imagined. Miles was asked about graduation and explained that he was going to attend A&M in the fall. This prompted Rebekah to, maybe too enthusiastically, inform Miles that she would be going to A&M as well and that she would find him and they would be best friends. Miles was ecstatic to hear that Rebekah was going to A&M and was happy to hear that she wanted to be friends. At this point, Rebekah would have accepted if Miles had asked her out, but she was not actively seeking any form of relationship. Miles began trying to find some time to get to know her, which was difficult due to both of their busy schedules. Eventually, he just started to talk to her every chance that he could and respond to as many snapchat stories he could think of a comment for, which was very easy as she was on vacation in Paris at this time. They talked a lot, despite the large time difference. By the end of the summer, he had gotten know her and was super excited to spend time with her at A&M. It was probably around this time, a few weeks before they went off to A&M, that it became noticeable to the coworkers around them that they had both grown to like each other, but with them both being niave, neither of them thought the other knew how they felt. Once they were both settled in at A&M and there was finally no work or school to get in the way, they started to spend a lot of time together during Howdy Week. Miles really enjoyed the week and wanted to keep spending time with her, so he asked her on a date. Their first date was the Saturday before classes began, August 25, 2018. They both had a blast and they continued to spend as much time as possible together even after classes started. This lasted a whole week before they decided to make it official that they were a couple, on September 1st. After dating for four years (and 4 months), on December 25 2022, they got engaged.

Both Rebekah and Miles will be completing their respective masters degrees in May of 2024, two weeks before they plan to get married. This wedding truly is a celebration for the beginning of their lives together in more than one way. We can’t wait to spend it with you!
