Our Wedding

A romance and partnership born against the odds. Rebekah was living in Pennsylvania and Gary in D.C. and were both adjusting to life during the COVID pandemic. While Rebekah was teaching 7th grade Science, Gary was working as a consultant and finishing his Ph.D. Two weeks before Gary was to propose his Ph.D. the two swiped right on one another. After a couple weeks of keeping things virtual, they met in D.C. in June 2020 and shared what was to be the first of many visits together. It was clear to both that what they found in each other was different than anything either had experienced before, and later that same year decided to begin their life together in D.C.&nbsp;

There are several airports in the DC area that we recommend flying into:- DCA, 4 miles to Hotel Washington- IAD, 26.6 miles to Hotel Washington- BWI, 35.6 miles to Hotel Washington If you prefer to travel by train, you can plan your travel stop at Washington DC's Union Station which is 1.9 miles to Hotel Washington.

We're excited to share a few of our favorite spots in the area for you. We recommend staying in town for a few days to hit some of these special places. 

Wake up in the morning and grab a coffee/tea from Compass and walk around the National Mall starting from the Capitol Building down to the Washington Monument.

National Mall

We love this beer garden and visit frequently. Grab a boot of beer or a fresh cocktail from the silver bus and snack on a giant pretzel with a side of beer cheese! Our go-to drinks:Rebekah - DBGGary - Hefeweizen

Dacha Beer Garden (Navy Yard)

Stop by The Wharf and load up on great steak, creamy crab dip, and Rebekah-approved mac &amp; cheese. With gorgeous waterfront views and the Jefferson Memorial right next door, we can't recommend this place enough!

THE GRILL

End the night at one of our favorite speakeasies, The Mirror. Behind the sketchy entrance and dirty mirror, is a dimly lit bar with strong drinks and chill vibes. Once you sit down on a cozy couch, you'll want to stay until closing.

Kick-off Wedding Day Eve with us at one of our favorite locations. Small bites will be provided, cash bar. Smart casual attire is recommended.
