Our story began in the summer of 2016. Ryan was in the process of assisting his current boss in opening his third Chick-fil-A restaurant. Due to the busy nature of grand openings, Chick-fil-A assigns a grand opening team to help get the store ready for business. It was at this time that Recie was selected to travel to Peachtree City, Georgia to take part in the training of this store’s new team.

Recie considerably enjoyed her time in Georgia and learned a lot in the process. In typical “Recie fashion,” she kept mostly to herself. She spent most of her time working diligently to prove herself to the rest of the grand opening team. On the other hand, Ryan stayed busy with the countless tasks of day-to-day operations. However, he couldn’t help but wonder about the quiet girl from Texas. The two of us parted ways with little to no interaction, other than a simple farewell.

Fast forward to fall of 2016. Recie had recently made the move to Crossroads, Texas to continue her career with her current Operator in opening and working at his first free-standing restaurant. During this busy season, Ryan was asked to assist in the grand opening phase of the new location. Because the grand opening was much busier than expected, Ryan decided to travel to Texas to help out.

After a week of hard work, Ryan was offered a full-time position as the Executive Director of Chick-fil-A Crossroads. Though the idea of moving 800 miles away seemed crazy, he decided to carefully consider the option. After much reflection and prayer, he felt lead to make the jump. Ryan moved to Crossroads, Texas in January 2017. He hoped that this opportunity would allow him to build his resume and further his career, but little did he know that he’d find his future wife as well.

After six months of working along-side each other and taking the time to get to know one another, the relationship began to take shape. We spent time together in a group setting, and naturally gravitated to one another. We bonded over our similar interests and personalities, and found that we were very compatible friends. Finally, one day after work, Ryan mentioned that he was planning a trip to the shooting range, and asked Recie if she wanted to come along. Little did we know, this would be our first date. Nobody else ended up going with us, and it was the first time we truly spent time together.

After a fun trip to the range, Ryan wasn’t ready to call it a night. As it just so happened, Recie wasn’t either. When driving home, Ryan decided to ask her out to dinner. At this point, Recie knew this was definitely a date. We both knew very quickly that there was real chemistry between us, and one month later, we began dating officially. Nearly every weekend afterwards, we went on some type of adventure together, having a blast along the way.

During the time we were dating, we grew and strengthened our relationship through attending Covenant Church together in Crossroads. We joined two small groups, and became official members of the church. Keeping God at the center of our relationship has been extremely important to us. This has helped us grow immensely as a couple, and we learned a lot about each other through doing so.

In the summer of 2018, we took a trip to Georgia to visit Ryan’s family. In addition, Ryan wanted to take Recie to the beach for the first time in her life. The two of us drove down to the Florida Gulf Coast, where Ryan planned on asking Recie to marry him. He carried an engagement ring around with him at all times, looking for the perfect time to propose. However, he decided it would be best to have family present for this occasion. Ryan got his parents involved, and on July 13th, the four of them took a trip to Serenbe Farms in Georgia, where he asked Recie to marry him. Having waited for several months, Recie’s parents were delighted to received the call!

We are both ecstatic about our future together, and we give all the thanks to our wonderful friends and family who have supported us along the way. We look forward to seeing you all at the wedding and sharing the special celebration with you!
