What do I need to know about staying in the Beartooth Mountains?
There is no cell phone service at the ranch, or in most of the places in the Beartooths. Plan and communicate accordingly!
The closest restaurants are in Cooke City, thirty minutes away. The closest (large) grocery stores are in Cody, an hour away. Plan your meals ahead of time and stock up before driving up.
Weather changes quickly, and layers are your friend. This is also bear country so be informed. There may be bugs so bring bug spray. It may also be smoky.
Your amenities will depend on where you stay. The cabins at the KBarZ have showers but no kitchens. There is electricity and some wifi on the ranch.
This is rural Wyoming, not a luxury vacation. Be ready for some adventures.
What do I need to bring?
We have planned a week full of fun! Be sure to bring swimsuits, shoes to hike in, clothes to play outside in, sunscreen & bugspray, water bottles,
What airport should I use?
You can either fly directly into Cody, WY (which is normally more expensive and an hour away from the ranch) or you can fly into Billings, Montana (which is a two hours away from the ranch).
Where can I get food?
There is a Walmart and an Albertsons in Cody. You can also pick up groceries in Billings. There are small grocery stores in Cooke City. There is also a small convenience store in Crandall.
If you want to eat out in Cody we recommend you make reservations! There are also some restaurants in Cooke City.
Can I bring a +1?
If your significant other was not included in your invitation, the short answer is no. If you have someone who we have met who you think deserves a spot on the guest list, please ask!
When can I visit Yellowstone?
Visiting Yellowstone would be a great thing to do a couple days before our or after our time at the ranch. Our days at the ranch will be planned for other activities.
