I, Reid, went on a road trip with my siblings and sister in law to attend our cousin Amanda's wedding. The night of the rehearsal dinner was when we pulled into town. We were invited to go bowling with the bridal party once we got in and settled. In our hotel room, my mom had come over to see us before we went bowling, and to share some news. "Reid, the girls were talking about their friend who has a background in music just like you." my mom told me. My response, "Well I guess I should look somewhat put together then, huh?" I knew exactly what that meant; I was about to meet the man I was going to marry.

It wasn't until the next night, at the wedding, that we actually met. At first, we just stole some glances on the dance floor. When sending off the married couple, the DJ was still playing music inside. I started doing whatever line dance it was and my sibling let me hang out to dry (big sister is too cringy to dance with I guess). But Brooks didn't leave me hanging. (Neither of us can remember the song, which means we must had been a little distracted I guess)

At the end of the night, we were all helping clean up and out of the venue. Brooks had the "good Christian boy 6-8 folding chairs at a time" move going on, and I of course had to mention that.

Before I left, Emily came up to me and said, "I need your number and it's not for me."

Two days later, I was out to dinner with my friends for my birthday when I got a text. It was Brooks. and we haven't stopped talking since. Best birthday present ever!
