Q + A

What airports do I fly into?

The easiest option is Champaign (CMI), as it's in town. If you do CMI and only plan to be in town for a day or two, you will be fine Ubering around. Also, the Hyatt Place is where our room block is located and they offer an airport shuttle. If you're open to renting a car or taking the train down from Chicago, then Chicago (ORD or MDW), Indianapolis (IND), or Bloomington (BMI) are your best options. Bloomington is ~1 hour away, Indianapolis is ~2 hours, and Chicago is ~2.5 hours. Personally, Kayla and I prefer either Bloomington or Indianapolis, but you'll have to evaluate the cost of flying into town compared to another town and renting a car or getting a shuttle.

Will there be transportation provided to the wedding?

Unfortunately, we will not be providing transportation. We recommend either using Uber, Lyft, etc. to get to the wedding or renting a car for the weekend. The venue has a large parking lot. Parking is free.

What are some things to do around or near town?

The best in town options are to visit Meadowbrook Park, the Arboretum, Adventures in Space and Time (an Escape Room), and tour Illinois' campus. Other popular nearby options include visiting Allerton park (where we got engaged!), Kickapoo State Park (~45 min drive), Turkey Run State Park (~ 1.5 hr drive), and Starved Rock State Park (~2 hrs). Turkey Run State Park is on the way to Indianapolis and Starved Rock State Park is on the way to Chicago.

What are some places to eat in town?

Some of our favorites are: Mo's Burrito Truck, Sticky Rice, Watson's Hot Chicken, and The Bread Company. We also highly recommend Jarlings Custard Cup for ice cream.

What is the dress code?

The wedding will be cocktail and/or semi-formal (e.g., dresses, slacks).
