How They Met
Reigan always says “God handcrafted Blake for me.” After going to the same college for 3 years and never bumping into each other Reigan was accepted into a calculus class that she never should’ve gotten into, due to her not taking the pre-req needed. Blake, in addition to his rigorous course load and baseball commitments, was a tutor for computer science. In an attempt to bring up Reigan’s grade, her professor reached out to Blake specifically. Reigan’s professor knew Blake was a tutor/human calculator because he was a student in his class the year prior. It was a perfect match, in more ways than one! Reigan still failed the course, but she began cultivating a relationship with Blake. So that’s a win in her book!
Their First Date
Reigan tried wholeheartedly to get Blakes attention for months. She couldn’t tell if he was flirting back, or just living up to being a Midwesterner. (Super nice). Eventually she finally got the gumption to blatantly ask him on a date. He said yes and on March 23, 2020 they strolled down Park Ave with tea in their hands, stopped at a park, and talked for hours. The time flew by and the butterflies grew in size (still growing to this day.) These two found their way to each other and weren’t letting go anytime soon.
They Made it Official!
On April 22nd 2020 Blake and Reigan took a stroll through Dew Drop Park. Reigan kept accidentally referring to Blake as her boyfriend, and he smiled at her and said “boyfriend, I like the sound of that.” From then on the pair were officially a couple. Talk about a good birthday gift for Blake!
Later on in their story, the couple decided to hop the fence to a baseball field at Ward Park to go stargazing. They repeated this trend a few times and classified it as “their spot “ (even though the police thought otherwise). This was the spot where Blake said “I love you” and Reigan echoed. This would also be the same location where he would propose on December 29, 2022. After dinner Blake took Reigan to gaze at the stars for “old times sake,” he had a blanket and her snuggie for her since it was cold outside. He played their song and got down on one knee. Forever isn’t a long enough time to encompass the love these two share— they can’t wait to grow their family together.
