Valle de Guadalupe is about 90 miles southeast of San Diego.
How to Get to Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico
Option 1: Driving from Southern California
Crossing the Border
Drive to the San Ysidro Border Crossing (Interstate 5 South leads directly to the border).
Make sure you have Mexican auto insurance, which is required for driving in Mexico. You can purchase it online or near the border.
After the Border
Follow the signs for Mexican Federal Highway 1D (a toll road) heading towards Ensenada.
You'll pass through three toll booths: each costs around $2–$3 USD.
After approximately 1.5 hours, take the exit for El Tigre/Valle de Guadalupe to enter the wine region.
Option 2: Flying into Tijuana Airport
Flight and Arrival
Book a flight to Tijuana International Airport (TIJ).
Once you land, you can rent a car at the airport. Major rental companies like Hertz, Avis, and Budget operate there.
Driving to Valle de Guadalupe
From Tijuana Airport, take Highway 1D (toll road) towards Ensenada.
The drive takes about 1.5–2 hours.
Take the exit for El Tigre/Valle de Guadalupe to reach the wine region.
Important Notes
Car Rentals: You can't rent a car in San Diego and drive it into Mexico due to insurance restrictions, so renting in Tijuana is your best option.
Passport & Documents: Bring your passport and, if driving, your vehicle registration and Mexican auto insurance.
Toll Roads: Have small bills or coins ready for tolls.
Cell Service: Check with your carrier for international coverage to avoid unexpected charges.
El Cielo Resort is about 10 minutes or 3 miles from the venue. Please check out their room choices at their website. There is a family and friends discount if you book rooms through Allison (the groom's aunt) at Strong Travel who has arranged the following room rates including taxes:
Jr. Suite: $873 for the 2 nights with breakfast included or

Rancho Los Retonos is about 3 minutes or .5 miles from the venue. At the time the wedding invitations were sent out the room rate was $633.60 for the weekend including taxes and breakfast for 2. Transportation would not be arranged from this location.
Airbnb is highly recommended for accommodation in Valle de Guadalupe if the options above are not suitable options. If this is your option for stay you will have to arrange your transportation to the ceremony and reception.
