We first met in 2018, our senior year of high school, when mutual friends invited us to lunch at Local Heroes. We continued talking but didn't exchange numbers until after a music concert. We texted and eventually I asked him to come with me to church. We dated for about a year and then decided to go our separate ways. In 2019, while we were growing as individuals, Cameron enlisted in the Army. We did talk occasionally but the start of us coming back together was near the end of Cameron's basic training. I was dog sitting for family friends when I began panicking because of unknown sounds at 9 o'clock at night. Between Grammie and a lot of Cameron, I was able to stay somewhat, not really, calm until my dad came and discovered the neighbor had decided to do work in their garage. Why at 9 o'clock at night, who knows. From there we continued talking, got to know each other again and eventually began dating long distance due to Cameron being stationed in Alaska. It hasn't been easy, especially starting again as long distance. However, we've fought together through the ups and downs over the last few years. Cameron waited until I was ready for the next step (fun fact: he forgot that I said I was ready until his leave a month after). He was reminded during our visit to Grammie & BaPa’s; we were sitting on their couch talking when I showed him a Pinterest board of engagement rings prefaced with "Not trying to put any pressure on you but here are some ideas." Gram and I both got a laugh out of the ensuing conversation. The first family road trip I had ever invited someone to, was his first road trip with us, to Montana for Christmas. During that trip he asked my parents for permission. The next leave he had, Cameron proposed, after not only treating me to a manicure but after his mom did my hair. By doing so, we got beautiful pictures and a video of the proposal. Now here we are, 7 years later (my brain kinda 🤯), you're all here to see us get married and begin our next chapter as husband and wife!
