It all started on June 18th, 2022 at The Little Darlin' in Austin. Renee and Buddy met Ryan for brunch and had such a wonderful time, it became the longest first date ever - 11 hours! After 6 months of dating and falling in love, Renee asked Ryan to join her for her family Christmas trip to Cornelius, NC. And while they were there, they 'accidentally' bought a house on Lake Norman. And everything just started to fall into place. Selling their Austin homes, packing up their belongings, Buddy, Ryan and Renee left Texas for the slightly cooler (but oh-so beautiful) state of North Carolina. They were settled for only a few months before they decided it was time to add to their family. So on June 12th, 2023, they adopted Sophie, their 'North Carolina Brown Dog'. Their family felt complete now.

Nearly a year later, May 4th, 2024, Renee's family was up in Asheville for their annual family mountain trip. Unbeknownst to Renee, Ryan was planning to propose that weekend. After some finagling to separate from the family a bit, Ryan and Renee were enjoying a moment on the wraparound porch, looking out at the mountains, when Ryan pulled a GORGEOUS ring out of his pocket, got down on a knee, and popped the question! And of course, Renee said YES!

It has been a crazy two years since we met in Austin - but we wouldn't trade any of it for the world!
