Below we've listed some of the hotels on the island as well as flights. Ethan and I have visited most of these hotels and used this airline. We do find that renting an Airbnb is a better deal for what the houses on the island offer. Our favorite cities to stay in are Ponta Delgada, Lagoa, and Vila Franca do Campo. The wedding is taking place in Vila Franca, but all of these cities are only up to a 20 minute drive away from the venue.
Once on the island, the best way to get around is a rental car. All of the cars on the island are compact sedans and hatchbacks, so please choose your suitcase(s) accordingly.
Flights
SATA Azores Airlines
SATA Azores Airlines is what we fly direct to Sao Miguel out of Boston Logan. There is typically one flight out of Boston everyday at 9pm, and one flight back from Sao Miguel at 6pm. I would highly suggest booking your flights ASAP as they only have one flight per day, and they get more expensive the longer you wait. They do give you a meal on the flight both ways, you can request a different meal 24 hours prior to the flight for any dietary restrictions.

Pestana Bahia Praia
Pestana is the hotel where we are getting married, we do not have rooms blocked but we will be getting a promo code soon.
Pestana also has an Autatlantis rent a car location in their lobby
Caloura Hotel Resort
We haven't personally stayed here or visited but we have had family stay here and heard VERY good things! Caloura is located right next to Vila Franca.
Sul Villas & Spa
Lagoa is one of our favorite towns to visit, Ethan and I have stayed at this hotel before and loved it!
Hotel Marina Atlântico
Located in Ponta Delgada, 20 minute drive to the wedding. One of two Atlantico hotels in the city(the other is the Grand Atlantico), both are great with views of the ocean. Atlantico Marina is better priced.
Pedras do Mar Resort & SPA
Nice and quiet area just outside of the city, 20 minutes from the airport, beautiful ocean views!
