First we were friends. We met at University of South Carolina, at an infamous house called "1801." Rhett quickly became thick as thieves with JB's hometown friends and attended the same local music scene events. Here pictured with JB's longtime friends Dylan, Ian, and Phil.

They have always had the best of friends, and Rhett would regularly drive back to Columbia to visit her family and friends. (She moved to Knoxville in June of 2015)

Then, one day there was a super secret booking at work, and Rhett got free tickets to see an intimate benefit show performance of comedian Louis CK in Asheville. She asked two of her closest friends, but no one could meet her there with such short notice. So with her friend JB, being a huge comedy fan, she asked him to meet her in the middle (between Columbia and Knoxville) and go to a show. He said yes.

After that trip, they started hanging out a bit more. Texting about books, shows, and life. And they started making trips between Columbia and Knoxville often for concerts and shows. John Prine, Dave Chappelle, and here they roadtripped to see Television headline Hopscotch Festival in 2016.
