Richard and Michaela first met each other where most people meet each other in England, a Pub. Richard, the hard working, bossy manager and Michaela the loud mouth trainee manager who couldn't keep a secret (she told everyone Richard was leaving when he confided in her).

Though both went their separate ways, they ended up back in the midlands together. Richard, recently moving back due to covid, had taken over the Beech House, much to Michaela's frustration. However, he did smooth it over with a cheeky Wagamamas takeaway and a nice bottle of Malbec. After this Michaela was head over heels for him and decided to invite him around for a delicious roast and several bottles of wine (please remember here, this is Richard's version of events).

From this moment, Richard and Michaela have been inseparable, surviving a lockdown, the purchase of a business, and, Richards several, unsuccessful, attempts to buy a dog. But through it all they have been at each others side and powering on to the next challenge.

In May 2023 Richard planned what is being dubbed the "perfectly imperfect proposal". While away in the lake district seeing Michaela's grandfather, Richard suggested a nice couple of days in a spa hotel on the other side of lake Windermere. Little did she know that a ring had travelled up with them ready for the question (he's omitted here the fact he purchased said ring that very morning, despite it being a one of a kind ring I had sent him months ago...). The plan had been to do a small walk up to the top of a beauty spot overlooking the lake and ask away, however mother nature in England decided to rare her head and the beautifully sunny morning turned into low cloud and torrential downpours. However, Richard, never to be deterred by a challenge, asked away and in the misty rain, possibly hiding the tears in her eyes, Michaela said yes (there were no tears, just a lot of rain).

The rest is history and we are both extremely happy to be inviting all of you to join us on our special day.
