Our Wedding

The wedding will take place at charming <a href="https://cgdiarie.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Di Arie Winery</a>, which is located at 19919 Shenandoah School Road in Plymouth, California. Situated in the beautiful Amador wine region, Di Arie is a boutique winery with a beautiful outside event space, located about a one-hour drive from Sacramento. Elisheva and Chaim Gur-Arieh, the owners of the winery, are dear friends and generous hosts. We recommend flying into Sacramento or San Francisco and driving to Plymouth by private car. There is no convenient local public transportation. Consider staying at the recommended hotel after the wedding feast. We encourage enjoying some local wine tasting while you are in the area! Please consider picking up some bottles of the fine Di Arie wine, made with love by Chaim, who is 92 and a food scientist! Some of you might know one of his other famous creations, the popular Captain Crunch cereal...

Travel and Location

There are several bed and breakfast options in the immediate area, as well as the recommended Oak Ridge Inn, which is located about a five-minute drive from the winery. We will have a shuttle between Oak Ridge Inn and the winery. There is no block of rooms reserved at this hotel, so use their website or call to to find best available rates. Alternatively, we have secured a discounted block of rooms at Kiota Inn (May 7 deadline to book), which is located 15 minutes from the wedding venue. The wedding will end around 10pm, and a local stay is highly recommended if you plan to enjoy the fine Di Arie wine during the celebration! Located in Plymouth, 26 miles from Empire Ranch Golf Course, Oak Ridge Inn, provides accommodations with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking and a garden. The hotel features a hot tub, a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi throughout the property. It was the fifth invitation to hang out, and Ricky finally said "sure"... We clicked and became inseparable! We are straight forward, honest to a fault, devoted to supportive companionship, and madly in love! We grew up half a world apart, but yet had similar experiences of big family, strong connections, lots of music making, great home cooking, and fierce devotion to the well-being of those who nurtured and loved us. Small-town life in Norway and California's Central Valley gave way to exploration and growing independence. Now we are ready to build a life and see the world together. We both have come to appreciate some of the finer things. One might even say we are sometimes a little "extra." And we love our cats. Thanks for joining us to celebrate our union and our onward journey! Addendum by Ricky: Lars wrote most of this! (thanks, love!) As you can tell, he is very cheesy, precise and grammatically correct. I didn't say "sure," I said "yes"! (but honestly, he may have the receipts lol). I know you all think we're extra, and you're probably right. If you know Lars well, you know he isn't flying economy. We are very excited about this new chapter in our lives and we hope to see you there to celebrate our union!
