While talking in the student union at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU), Rileigh and my roommate Aaron, a mutual friend, were talking about how my roommates and I just adopted a Huskey, Nova. After hearing this and seeing pictures, Rileigh asked to meet the puppy as she was missing her own dogs. Little did I know that agreeing to adopt Nova would be the best decision of my life, as it was how I met Rileigh. That night, I had walked out of my room to grab some mint chocolate chip ice cream (which won me extra points as this is Rileigh's favorite ice cream flavor too) and when I saw her, I had no idea she would be the person I'd wish to spend the rest of my life with. The next day, I would see her again when she brought her sister and a friend over to show them Nova. After letting them into the apartment, I started to frantically clean the kitchen due to my embarrassment of the state of the room. I was later told this is how I caught her eye as she told me, "who doesn't love a man who can clean?" The next time I met up with Rileigh was at a Lauv concert the school was putting on for Homecoming. I got the coveted Snapchat that night and we talked for hours and hours. We then started to text all the time and afterwards she would invite me to various soccer games and outings with friends. I eventually caught on that she might be interested in me, and I was brave enough to try and make it official by asking her on our first date. It had felt like we had known each other forever and had an amazing time. From then on, we went on numerous dates all over Daytona Beach, to Disney World, to Universal and many other places. In December of 2022, we were able to go on a dream vacation to Germany and several surrounding countries to visit the Christmas Markets. It was a magical time straight out of a Hallmark movie. On Christmas Eve we were in Munich, a city of beautiful architecture, home of the world-famous cuckoo clock called the Glockenspiel. It puts on an impressive display of bells and life-size figures every day at noon. When everyone was getting ready to watch the clock's display and after looking at all the booths leading to the center of the Marienplatz, below the Glockenspiel, I got down on one knee and proposed to Rileigh. Thankfully she said yes, and we have been happily awaiting the wedding, getting ready to say our vows and promise ourselves to each other in front of all our family and friends.
