Matt and I met on the dating site Hinge. He saw that I was in the Army due to my posting at the time of how the Army has built me to be more resilient. He reached out first to me about how he was in and then discussed our job occupations. After we started talking for a bit, he dropped me his number and we started talking on the phone. Matt and I hit it off right away, no if ands or butts. My first words to him via texting were “Samsung huh 😂, this is Riley“ The first time we met in person was in the morning on his way to work. He asked me if I wanted coffee as I was dropping Gabe off at daycare and I said yes please (I thought I had time to go home and kinda fix myself up a little bit and not look so morning-ish looking). I gave him my address and after a few short minuets he met me at my house as I was about to start shoveling my driveway. This man of mine decided to take the shovel from me and started shoveling my driveway as he knew I was a bit physically broken with sciatica/ back troubles and didn’t want me lifting a finger. I was so nervous, but at that moment Matt and I started talking more later on that day and we both got that instant emotional connection. Matt would come over after work a few nights a week and would stay late just talking and getting to know each other. We talked about our kiddos (he has two and I have two), military talk, life goals, and intentions. Matt and I have encountered so much already but despite all we have encountered, we keep making many more memories together and we can’t wait to keep making loving memories together as a family! I am so blessed to have found him, and so thankful for Hinge!
