Our story began in the spring of 2017 at the University of Rhode Island, where Kevin and Riley had many mutual friends and found themselves growing closer as they neared graduation. What started as friendship soon blossomed into something deeper, and by the start of summer, they decided to give dating a try!

As the summer of 2017 unfolded, Kevin and Riley spent their weekends traveling back and forth up and down the Garden State Parkway, commuting in and out of the city together, and so on. Each weekend was filled with getting to know more and more about one another and meeting each other's families and friends.

Once covid struck nothing really changed except longer stays with each other as remote work became the norm. In May 2020, Kevin took a leap and moved to Charleston for a new job. Previously Riley and Kevin thought the 1-hour distance in New Jersey was tough, but Charleston to New Jersey was a longer distance than they ever imagined for their relationship. But Riley’s first visit to Charleston, meant to be a long weekend, was so enchanting that it stretched into ten days. Riley fell in love with the Charleston charm Kevin had been raving about. Each visit after that grew longer until Riley decided to move to Charleston permanently, bringing with her a car full of clothes and a heart full of love.

Riley and Kevin enjoyed the next few years planting their roots in Charleston. They loved exploring new things together and finding all of the best spots to hear live music. They would try new restaurants and try new breweries until they basically ate and drank their way through the city. In July 2021 Kevin and Riley decided to grow their family when they welcomed Murphy home, their beloved Golden Retriever.

On July 3, 2023, Kevin had a surprise in store. Claiming they were heading to a coworker’s 4th of July beach party, they instead made their way to the picturesque Breach Inlet in Isle of Palms. As they were walking along the water to said beach party, Kevin reminded Riley he told her he loved her for the first time on a beach 6 years ago.. and to Riley’s surprise he got down on one knee! The two happily celebrated with the sun setting and a bottle of champagne in hand, marking the beginning of their next chapter as an engaged couple. They were beyond excited to share the news the next morning with their friends and family.

Since then, Riley and Kevin have been dreaming up the perfect weekend to celebrate their marriage with their loved ones. They’re excited for everyone to experience why they love Charleston so much. Riley and Kevin are truly thankful for the love and support they’ve received from their closest friends and family over the years.
