Includes a 60-acre vineyard, restaurant, cafe, marketplace, tasting room, and tank room. The vineyard was originally established in 1977 with the goal of producing fine wines as a way of preserving agricultural land from rapid development. Today, they produce a variety of quality, award-winning wines.
The Breakers is the grandest of Newport's summer "cottages" and a symbol of the Vanderbilt family's social and financial pre-eminence in the Gilded Age.
Locally known as Second Beach, is a South facing, mile-long, family-friendly beach with good surf and great sand.
There is a concession stand, bathrooms, changing area, showers, grills, picnic tables, and shade structures located at the main building. Port-a-johns and showers are located at the base of each pathway.
Surfboard rentals and lessons as well as a Del's Lemonade truck are available during the season . Showers can be found at Surfer's End (on the west end of the beach).
Gooseberry Beach is located along 10-mile Ocean Drive. Set in a cove, the beach provides a quiet, calm place to relax with minimal waves.
The beach is open to the public, however walk-on access is prohibited. You must arrive by bike, scooter or purchase a daily pass to park and arrive by car. Daily passes are for sale on their website for $30 + tax.
In addition to our beautiful and historic property which is open to the public year-round, our Enshrinement Gallery, located in the museum, celebrates 267 distinguished Tennis Hall of Fame inductees representing 28 different countries. Additionally, the museum is home to an array of artifacts including objects, art, fashion, photos, images, videos, and publications showcasing an impressive collection from tennis’ greatest moments and most inspiring champions.
