In 2020, just a few weeks before they were going to leave for their freshman year of college, Colton and Riley were randomly set up on a double date. Colton had a broken shoulder at the time thanks to an incident with a pool umbrella, but that didn't stop Riley from thinking he was fine and dandy. It turned out that Colton felt the same way, and a few days later he asked her out on a date.

After the first date, they hung out everyday leading up to moving away for college. It was hard, but once the time came to leave, they decided to give long distance a try while Colton was in Virginia, and Riley in Oklahoma.

After hundreds of facetime calls, and a few visits back and forth, Riley thought it would be best to transfer schools and go live in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains with Colton.

After 4 fantastic years of college, getting an apartment together, and getting their dog, Duck, they finally graduated and headed back home to start their next stage of life.

On June 27th, Riley went over to Colton's house after work to a sweet surprise. Colton had worked all day in the Texas heat blowing up hundreds of balloons and painting letters that spelled out "Marry Me?" Riley was so surprised!

A few months later, after waiting all summer, Colton received a call from a recruiter that an Army contract was available for him. Colton will be leaving on September 15th to begin his journey in the military. On short notice, Colton and Riley decided they are going to tie the knot before he leaves! They can't wait to see where the rest of their story takes them.
