How To Get Here (Driving)

From the North: Depending on driving from Wisconsin (get to I-88) or Michigan (get to I-80), we recommend taking I-80 East through Iowa. Always make a stop at the I-80 Truck Stop (world's largest)! When you get to Des Moines, head on I-35 South towards Kansas City. Past the city and into Kansas, continue heading South and follow signs for Highway 69 South towards Overland Park. When you take the exit onto 69 overpass, be sure to wave "hi" at Henderson Engineers on your left!

How To Get Here (Flying)

Fly into Kansas City International Airport (MCI). We recommend flying Delta or Southwest. For Wisconsin guests, Southwest now offers nonstop flights from MKE to MCI. KC's airport is about a 35-40 drive from the hotel. If you are renting a car, we recommend heading South on I-29 towards Kansas City. Follow signs for I-635 South, then I-35 South towards Wichita. However, you can also take the 435 loop around the city. Continue heading South and follow signs for Highway 69 South towards Overland Park.

Let's start off with the basics: Kansas City is in fact in both Kansas AND Missouri! Most of downtown proper is KCMO, whereas we currently live on the Kansas side. As for most cities to explore, be sure to check out the boroughs we have to offer! Power and Light District: KC's famous nightlife and bar district. Also where Jess and Trev first met! You might be able to catch a free show on Thursdays during Hot Country Nights!The Crossroads Arts District: Previously industrial warehouse sites, the Crossroads now hold art galleries, shops, and our company's downtown office!River Market: Be sure to take the streetcar up to the River Market where you can find the best farmer's market and some fun eats right along the Missouri river!Country Club Plaza: Jessica's favorite area! This upscale shopping center boast luxury brands and some pretty sweet restaurants! Spanish-European inspired architecture!

Kansas City's original joint for BBQ. Fun fact: every president eats here when they visit KC!

Arthur Bryant's Barbeque

Kansas City's flagship brewery, serving up beers, seltzers (best in the game!), and canned cocktails. They also have the BEST pretzel bites and beer cheese in the world!

KC's spot for wine and the best wine slushees! There's always events during the weekends, so be sure to take a trip out to the vineyards!

KC Wine Co

RT's favorite Whiskey in Kansas City! This whole-in-the-wall distillery serves up some unique cocktails and liquors!

West Bottoms Whiskey Co.

Awesome downtown brewery with rotational in-house taps in a plant-inspired warehouse. Jessica could argue this street could be her favorite in downtown KC, holding her favorite record store (Josey Records) and local chocolatier (Christopher Elbow Chocolates)

Jess and Trev's favorite Mexican restaurant in Kansas City! Be on the lookout for the bright green building and get ready for the strongest margaritas in the city!

We're all about breakfast on the weekends, and this one's our favorite! A local chain, this place seriously has big and delicious biscuits!

For all-around gastropub and the BEST brunch in Kansas City, this place is it! Our #1 favorite in KC as it was where many of our first dates were!

This sweet pizza joint has a ton on the menu and some pretty awesome concerts at their downtown location!

THE place to hang! Hop on over to either the original in North KC or the bigger location in Overland Park! Pickleball courts (make sure to reserve online ahead of time!), shuffleboard, bocce, cornhole, and great food/drinks!

Hands down, the top overlook spot of the KC skyline! This museum and memorial is definitely a favorite of ours!

National WWI Museum and Memorial

If you're looking for a free art museum while you're visiting, head to Nelson-Atkins! Be sure to look for the infamous shuttlecocks on the lawn!

Whether you're a Chiefs fan or not, Arrowhead is definitely a must see in KC! Tours available year-round!

GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium

Catch a Royals game while you're in town! Located in the same parking lot as Arrowhead, you'll be able to tailgate and watch a great ball game with the fountains in the outfield!
