Our Story

The Story of Us

When Maryland Met Tennessee

Sometimes the best love stories unfold when you least expect them. Ours began with a leap, not just of the heart, but across state lines.

I had no idea that moving from Maryland to Chattanooga, Tennessee would lead me straight into the arms of the man I would one day marry. I moved for work, for life, for change, but looking back, it’s clear I moved for to meet my soulmate, even if I didn’t know it at the time.

Sometimes the best love stories unfold when you least expect them. Ours began in the most unexpected of places, a job interview.

We first met during a peer interview with Covenant. Over the next few years, we only saw each other occasionally and always in work-related contexts. But life has a funny way of working things out. A few years later, we both found ourselves single and started to notice each other in a new light.

It all really began with an impromptu, hour-long hallway conversation, one of those rare moments where time slows down and everything just clicks. We discovered we had a lot in common, and one lunch later, I found myself developing a crush. I tried to keep things professional, but let’s just say visiting Rob’s office became a dangerous game, he was so cute and smelled amazing! I never lingered too long out of fear I might say something inappropriate.

Then one day, during another hallway chat, he mentioned going out with friends and being the dreaded third wheel. Half-jokingly, I said, “Well, if you ever need a fourth wheel, let me know.” That opened the door to another lunch, one that he canceled. But that same day, he asked if I wanted to go to dinner with a group of friends. I said yes, and we’ve been together ever since. That night was July 16, 2021, a date that changed everything. Just a few months later, I left Covenant for my current company, First Student, and we’ve been inseparable ever since.

That first date ended by the Tennessee River, a place that quickly became our spot. The second and third dates ended there too, and we often found ourselves back at that peaceful riverside, talking, laughing, and falling deeper in love. So it was only fitting that Rob chose that very place for his breathtaking proposal on May 10th.

In the years we've been together, we’ve shared our passion for travel and adventure, exploring the world hand-in-hand. From the serene beaches of the Maldives to the bustling streets of Tokyo and London, from the charm of Amsterdam, Austria, and Germany to the warmth of Mexico, Jamaica, and the Cayman Islands, we’ve made unforgettable memories across the globe. We’ve also loved discovering gems closer to home like Florida, California, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Louisiana, the Carolinas, Maryland, Georgia, and many more.

Whether we’re halfway across the world or right here at home, our favorite adventure is the one we’re on together. We can't wait to begin the next chapter, marriage, and continue building a lifetime of laughter, love, and memories.
