Our Wedding

Both native to Santee, CA it was only a matter of time before destiny intertwined their lives. Although having both attended elementary school at Carlton Oaks, and Ashley growing up next door to a close friend of Robert's, Robert and Ashley had not met until adulthood. Meeting at a party through a mutual friend they have spent the last 4 years forging the unbreakable bond that they now share. In the days and weeks after they met, they sent countless text messages to one and other, sharing favorite songs and getting to know each other better until they were able to be together in person again. Whenever possible, they would spend their evenings together after work enjoying each other's company along with their favorite wines and craft beers while playing board games or watching movies. Robert met Ashley's daughter, Haven after her 6th birthday party and quickly grew to love her sweet smile and quirky personality. Spending time pushing her on the swings, swimming, watching movies and eating ice cream, he now considers her his own as they too have built an amazing relationship. Ashley, a graduate of San Diego State University is now working as a Personnel Technician for Santee School District and Robert, a United States Air Force Veteran is now working as a Project Manager for Kleinsmith Stair and Trim. They both enjoy hiking, camping, and spending the winters in the desert on their quads and dirt bikes. Robert proposed to Ashley on a weekend getaway while camping at Two Harbors on Catalina Island. After spending the day snorkeling and taking in amazing sights, the two were hiking into town for dinner when he popped the question at a view point he had spotted on a previous hike that same trip. We look forward to spending the day with you as we commemorate their relationship and pour out our blessings on their future life together as one.

Brooke is Ashleys' sister, married to Jake Wetherby and mother of 2 great kids, Hunter (17) and Layla (15). Brooke has been an important figure in Ashleys' life, not only as a sister but a friend providing advice when needed and good times on the regular. 
A super Aunt to Haven, Brooke is always happy to help, providing care and a place to hang out.

Having met in kindergarten, these two have been best friends for over 20 years. Although life led them apart for a short time, it wasn't long before they were back in each others lives again seeming like time hadn't changed a thing. From Jane Fonda and peperoncinis, to motherhood and adulting, they have been through nearly every phase of life together thus far. Ashley is married to Ray Banaga and they have recently welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Mila into the world.

Ashley and Shannon met in middle school, but it wasn't until high school that their relationship truly bloomed. Encouraging Ashley to be herself and 'come out of her shell',  Shanon has always been a positive influence in Ashley's life, and is always there for advice when she needs it the most. Shannon is married to Gabe Swan and together they are raising 2 amazing children, Malachi and Malia.

Matt and Robert met in little league, playing baseball together then both attending West Hills High School. Constantly having sleep overs and playing 'Risk' until eventually taking some, Matt was Roberts first roommate sharing an apartment in El Cajon. Robert has always been able to look to Matt for some level headed advice, and then ignore it only to wish he would have listened. Matt is husband to Sadie and father to 3 wonderful boys; Michael, Cory and Ethan.

Derek and Robert both went to Carlton Oaks Elementary and West Hills High School together. Playing on the same little league baseball teams and becoming close friends, they spent days bass fishing at Santee Lakes and nights rummaging through their baseball card collections. Derek and Robert share deep rooted bond and secrets they will never tell. Derek is now a father, raising his beautiful baby girl, Emberlyn alongside Brittany Miles.

Robert and Uriel met in kindergarten after they fought over one of the few coveted tricycles at recess. Their punishment was both having to eat lunch together, with their teacher, for a week. This led to the two of them forming a friendship that would stretch 30 plus years. Uriel is the successful CEO at Blackbeard Marine Services and is in a relationship with Dominique Hernandez raising their two playful fur babies, Duke and Hazard.

Our 'Hikey Moon' in the Desolation Wilderness

In the mountains just west of Lake Tahoe is Desolation Wilderness. A federally protected wilderness preserve with pristine views of granite peaks, over 100 alpine lakes and thousands of tall, evergreen pine trees. While the name, "desolation", stems from a meaning of misery and loneliness, our trip here was everything but miserable. Hiking through the wilderness, for days on end, with nothing more than what we could carry, our love for each other grew thicker than the trees and deeper than the lakes themselves. We tested our limits, and pushed each other forward through the vibrant landscape in awe of not only the surrounding beauty, but of each other as well.
