“The Day After” Saturday Shenanigans

Our Wedding

It all started on Christmas Day 2020, when Rob was scrolling his instagram feed and stumbled upon a picture of a friend with Des in it. Rob, being bold as he is, messaged said friend and asked if Des was single. She didn’t know necessarily in that moment, so Rob reached out and struck up a conversation. Fast forward 3 months and 2 more DMs later after that initial slide on Christmas Day, Des finally gave Rob his number, and they went on their first date at the Westin at DIA. Awkward conversation such as “how do you sneeeze?”, and “I only drink Kim C Sauvignon Blanc” occurred, but nevertheless, Rob traveled to Denver 2 weeks later for St Patrick’s Day weekend. Little did Rob and Des know that a massive snowstorm would strike Denver that weekend, and Rob’s quick trip for one night would turn into a full blown 4-day weekend sharing Des’s 500 sq ft studio in the Highlands. This, however, was the catalyst to the beginning of something bigger than either Rob or Des knew at the time, and would lead us to where we are today. Rob asked Des to be his boyfriend on Easter Sunday (also unplanned but apparently we love a High Holy Day in our relationship), and thus began a year of long-distance, a cross-country move from Chicago to Denver in April 2022 to move in together, and finally their engagement on August 18, 2023. So much has happened over the last few years and we know that we are so excited to share our biggest day with all of our most-important people. Thank you for being a part of it all, and thank you all for your unending support.

There are several hotel options in the downtown area of Denver. Our wedding venue and “day after” reception are both very close to the city center, so any location in the downtown area will be more than adequate for our out of town guests. Feel free to spend as much or as little as you want for your own budgetary needs!
