We met at our Church's young adults retreat. Robin fell head over heels and Kayla thought nothing of it, other than meeting a new friend!

Robin began his pursuit by inviting her to various hang-outs with friends.

Robin laid on the charm by asking about the dishwasher Kayla uses at work. (She doesn't use the dishwasher, she's a server...)

Robin and his roommate put together a beach volleyball team and invited Kayla and a couple of her friends to join.

Robin asked Kayla out... it was awkward... and she didn't say yes.. but later that week Robin invited her (and a couple other friends) to swap an engine with him.

Robin thought Kayla wasn't interested and gave up his pursuit. Only to be surprised when Elina (one of Kayla's close friends and a bridesmaid) told him that wasn't the case and that he should ask her out again.

The first "date" - Canoeing on the river, coffee and a walk!

The notorious second date... a late night kayak, a fire on the beach, and ... search and rescue?

After going to the Canada Day fireworks with some friends, Robin initiated the "So I wanna date you" chat. Through this conversation and clearly communicating his intentions, he learns about Kayla's Dad's rule.

Robin meets and gets interrogated by the parents. Since he got the stamp of approval, this is the day Robin assumed they started dating.

Kayla is introduced to some of Robins family and friends at a river float for his brother-in-laws birthday. This is the day Kayla would say they started dating. (Because this is the day he actually asked her to be his girlfriend)

We both knew pretty early on that we were headed in a similar direction

We spent lots of time with family

Lots of time with friends

And lots of time in the gym

Many happy memories and some challenging conversations led us to one year :)

Robin came along on a family trip to the east coast!

We took a quick day trip to Prince Edward Island

and he popped the question!

We're engaged!

Since then there's been lots of wedding planning, Robins been building his business, and we've both been dreaming of what our future will look like!

Our story is one only God could have written, and we pray that our marriage will bless Him for as long as we live. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
