To hear Bob tell the story it all started back when he was in 5th grade and he saw me across a parking lot and told one of his friends that " he was going to marry that girl one day". And for me it started when we were seniors in high school and one of my friends told me that Bob Schattgen liked me and I looked at her and asked her "who"?

Our story is one that you do not hear very often, high school sweethearts getting married right after graduating, starting a family right away, struggling together to make ends meet and your marriage survive but, when you are married to your best friend it definitely makes it a lot easier. Figuring it out as we went along, with many wonderful memories being made. We made a life with each other and our amazing three children. Our family of 5 grew to a family of 8 with the additions of our amazing 2 daughter in laws and our awesome son in law. Then along came our absolutely wonderful 7 grandchildren to make us a family of 15. We are so very blessed.

As our family grew, so did our opportunities to travel and live in different states and countries. Our time in Canada was 3 of the most amazing years for both of us. So many adventures, new friendships made and memories. From there moving to Texas was another great adventure along the way for us. We made our 6 years there a time to have fun, enjoy time with friends and look forward to the next chapter in our lives. Now living in North Carolina, we are hoping to make this our forever home, to slow down life a little bit and enjoy every day together. We hope that when you come to visit us for our vow renewal that you enjoy this small piece of paradise as much as we do.
