Our Story

How We MetBrian first shook Robyn's hand on January 30th 2012; Brian's first day at Dakno Marketing. Our crushes were kindled over steamy Bachelorette and Bachelor episodes for the next six months. The First KissWe had our first kiss outside, under the stars at Gorman Street Village apartments (where Brian lived) on June 22, 2012. This is where Brian asked Robyn to be his girlfriend. She said yes, of course! The Proposal3.5 years after the first kiss, Brian got down on one knee and asked Robyn to marry him on December 21, 2015 outside, under the stars at Gorman Street Village apartments. She, again, said yes, of course! Present DayRobyn and Brian live together, along with a curious cat named Dory, in a cozy house in Northeast Raleigh.

Dena and I have been best friends since we were 5. We've done everything together from summer camp and sleepovers to summer vacations and dancin' the night away at the club. She's stood by me through all of life's ups and downs and is now going to stand by my side when I get married! I'm so thankful to have this beautiful, smart, kind woman in my life. Sara and I met in high school and have been great friends ever since. Elise and I were in her wedding in 2012 and I'm so excited she agreed to be in mine 4 years later! Sara and her husband, Cory, live in northern Virginia. Although I don't get to see them as often as I'd like, we always have a blast when we're together!

Elise and I met in high school at Sanderson. Our friendship started off great doing projects in Key Club and going out to lunch together off campus. We spent many warm summer nights at Sara's house eating cookie dough and playing in the pool. Sara and I were in Elise's wedding in 2014. She and her husband, Andy, live in Charlotte, NC.

Vanessa and I became great friends in 2009 when we both moved back to Raleigh after graduating from UNCG. We enjoy going yard sale-ing on a pretty regular basis in the summertime and like doing jigsaw puzzles, painting pictures, and going swimming together.  Vanessa lives in Raleigh with her two dogs, Bella and Oliver. Last year she received her FNP and sometimes I like to pretend she's my personal nurse :)

Becky and I went to UNCG together. We bonded instantly over our love of Disney movies (well, all things Disney, actually), jigsaw puzzles, and board games. We also shared the same major (she and I made up 2/3 of our undergrad class in Deaf Education!) and practically lived together for 2 years (not actually, but within a 5-minute walk of each other.)Becky and her husband live in Portsmouth, VA.

The train is another fun attraction that everyone can enjoy and is a great way to see the park. It's also $1/person. Wear your walking shoes when the weather is nice - parking can be tricky! This park has a snack bar, restrooms, a lake with pedal boats, and an awesome playground for the little ones.
