Frederick is conveniently located between Baltimore and DC. If you are looking for things to do outside of wedding festivities, each city is roughly an hour's drive. For the historian in you, Frederick played a big part in the civil war. We are within 30 minutes of Gettysburg, Antietam, and Harpers Ferry (This is where our engagement pictures were shot). Below I have linked some of Tyler and I's favorite local restaurants. Recommendations vary between cuisine and proximity to downtown.
Pistarro's is an excellent Italian bistro downtown with parking on-site that specializes in handmade pizzas! Great when you can't decide on one topping. Everyone can order their own! Pistarro's is also within walking distance from Frederick Fudge and Ice Cream. A quaint ice cream shop with excellent handmade fudge and hand-scooped Hershey's ice cream.
Mexicali Cantina is our favorite Mexican restaurant in town! Great food and great atmosphere. Be careful not to fill up on their chips and salsa, it's addicting!
Madrones is a classic American steak house. Make sure you call ahead because they get busy fast!
If wine is your thing, check out The Wine Kitchen on the Creek. You will want to park at the West Patrick Street Garage and walk a short distance. Enjoys the sights of carol creek and the murals along the buildings.
If beer is your thing, check out Brewer's Alley. Located in the heart of downtown, parking will be in the Church Street Parking Garage. Close to shopping, coffee, and other walkable attractions.
