A reflection of the community we love. It’s an open-air courtyard that is lined with retail shops, restaurants, and services all locally owned and operated. Fun fact: There are train cars within walking distance that have more shops, bars, and restaurants with delicious food including the best veggie burgers your taste buds will ever touch. For more upscale dinning and shopping, you can check out St. Philip’s Plaza. *Of course, you can always check out 4th Avenue, Downtown Tucson.* Downtown’s Hotel Congress is where Dillinger was caught for history buffs, the location of Cup Cafe for fans of brunch, and a cool nightlife spot downtown.

San Xavier del Bac Mission

Mission San Xavier del Bac is a historic Spanish Catholic mission located about 10 miles south of downtown Tucson. It features shops and artwork from the Tohono O’odham Nation, and you can also try their cultural Indian Fry Bread and Indian Tacos, yum. There are many other art museums to mention such as the Tucson Museum of Art. If you are a fan of the Old West, you can check out the town of Tombstone about 90 minutes outside Tucson where several old western films were filmed.

Sonora Desert Museum

This attraction is a natural history museum and botanical garden. Fun fact: Adam petted an owl there one time! Closer in town you can also visit the Tucson Botanical Gardens or Reid Park Zoo, which is not far from our house! If nature is not your thing but museums and planes are, you can visit the Pima Air and Space Museum featuring many retired military planes and helicopters. If you plan early to visit this museum, you can get tickets to see the air plane graveyard.

Take A HIKE!

Mt. Lemmon can be driven up and features many hiking trails and a cool perspective of pine trees and snow while you are in Arizona. Saguaro National Park can be driven as well, and on both East and West sides of town, featuring Broadway Trailhead with some easier trail options. It’s worth to mention to get a park pass. Sweetwater Trailhead forever remains Adam’s favorite, but if you want or are interested in any other options please reach out to us! If you are ambitious and want to attempt a mountain climbing experience, you can try Camino del Cerro Trailhead. Wasson Peak is sure to give you a good challenge and plus the bragging rights of dominating a mountain in Tucson! A Mountain features the most GORGEOUS views of Tucson and so worth the drive.
