Our Story

On December 22, 2024, our lives changed for the better. Just three days before Christmas, we both attended the only church service that day — without knowing God was already writing our story. Though we usually attended different services, that morning we were both in the right place at the right time.

We didn’t even sit in our usual seats. One of us was quiet, the other outgoing — yet our conversation flowed so naturally. We quickly realized how much we had in common: we both have four daughters, we were born in the same month, we are proud grandparents, we both lived in Chicago, Illinois, and we even love the same football team.

After church, Roderick asked for a phone number and promised to call after the holidays. But later that same day, a phone call came — and from that moment on, we both knew something special had begun.

On December 26, 2024, we went on our first date. We watched Wicked and shared lunch at Walk-On’s Restaurant, laughing, talking, and realizing how easy it felt to be together.

With every conversation, prayer, and moment shared, our connection only grew stronger. Within six months, we both knew we were meant to be married.

Our lives truly changed for the best. Today, we are best friends, soulmates, and partners in love and faith. We cannot imagine life without one another, and we are forever grateful that God brought us together at just the right time.
