Our Story
Romi and Christie's love story started all because of a spider...
On his day off, Romi woke up to a spider hanging above his head and decided to record it and post it on his IG story. Christie, who's terribly scared and disgusted by spiders, replied to his story complaining and said, "OMFG I don't do spiders omfggggg why'd you post this holy shiieeeetttt." Which Romi replied trying to act all cool, " 😏 killed it tho."
Though the two never meant for it to continue, the conversation did. After a few laughs, small talk, and catching up on life, Romi felt a spark in their friendship and hoped for things to turn into something more. Christie on the other hand wasn't looking for anything, but she felt so comfortable talking to this kid, which was so strange for her. She definitely had her guard up but Romi was very persistent in engaging conversation and making his way to Christie's heart hihihihi After all, they had been friends from waaaay back - but this time, things were different.
Long story short, Romi's consistency and his genuine care for Christie slowly but surely opened her heart up to him. Soon enough, Romi planned a trip to visit New Jersey, specifically to ask Christie to be his girlfriend -- but his plan changed when they were on FaceTime one night and it was crystal clear that they both wanted to be with each other. So... yes, he asked her out through FaceTime hehehe
A week into the relationship, Romi was the first to say, "I love you," and Christie wholeheartedly said it right back. It's true what they say, when you know you know...
After becoming official, Romi made multiple trips to Jersey - including their first official date back in July of 2018 at Long Branch Beach to watch the sunrise. At that point, they had only been dating for a little over a month. However, Christie knew very quickly in her heart that Romi was the one she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. As for Romi, it was during that sunrise he knew that he would one day ask Christie to marry him at that same location...
Our Engagement
After almost five years of dating, it was time for Romi to pop the question! With lots of prayer, support from family and friends, and Christie staying away from Romi's phone (LOL) the plan to propose was set. While they were slow dancing at a friend's wedding (not long after Christie caught the bouquet for the third time within a year), Romi mentioned that he planned a sunrise for the both of them the next morning. Christie, naturally, had her suspicions but it went away because of a few missing details of the circumstance. Pheewwwww!

Romi took Christie back to Long Branch where they enjoyed the sunrise and listened to worship songs together. Once the sun was up they wanted to take pictures/videos to recreate the ones they took on their first date. Romi pressed record and Christie started walking towards the water with her back towards him. To her surprise, Romi told her to turn around as he bent down on one knee with a ring in his hand. With tear-filled eyes and a grateful heart, Christie said yes. The two shared a beautiful morning celebrating with their amazing family and friends. Everything went perfectly just as he originally imagined five years ago. It was truly a dream come true. Romi and Christie give Glory to God in the highest for His goodness and faithfulness that allowed them to be where they are together.
