Believe it or not, Corey and I have actually known each other since kindergarten. He went home on the first day and told his mom about a cute girl in a red sweater. Yup, that’s me!
Fast forward to soccer days. Not only did we play high school ball together, but I played on his boys team in middle school. And he’ll admit, he was terrified of me. But what boy isn’t at that age?
We’ve been friends all these years, but honestly, I never saw Corey that way. Until one day our moms ran into each other at the store and got to talking about us. I did a lil creeping on social media and realized he wasn’t the same Corey I knew. (Obvi a lot changes from 18 to 28). And then I saw him on a dating app. And we matched instantly.
Our first date was January 27. How this man managed to get me to go out on a Monday night is beside me. But I’m highly influenced by Mexican food.
And the rest is history.
We skipped the whole getting to know each other and meeting the family cause 25 years is a long time to know someone.
Corey took me back to the same place we met to propose. Springhill Elementary. It was all I could have dreamed of. And we got to celebrate with all our people after. It was a night I’ll never forget.
Let’s plan a wedding!
