How We MetPete and Rosa first crossed paths while serving the Elgin community—Rosa in TV and radio, Pete in law enforcement. They held a deep respect for each other’s work, never realizing God was quietly shaping their story.Years later, in God’s perfect timing—both single and ready for what He had planned—they reconnected at a For King &amp; Country concert (their favorite worship band) at the NOW Arena. Italee (Rosa's daughter) and Pastor Jason-who will be officiating their wedding- happened to join them that night, unknowingly becoming part of their very first “date.” (Though they still giggle that it wasn't their first, but Rosa debates it was). (Pete proposed at the Now Arena years later). They chose 12/12 for their wedding day because the number 12 carries rich biblical meaning: divine governance, authority, and completeness—seen in the twelve tribes of Israel and the twelve apostles. Even more personally, Romans 12:12 reminds them to be “rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer,” a verse that beautifully reflects their journey.This year, the For King &amp; Country concert falls again on 12/12. Though offered tickets by their production team, Pete and Rosa chose instead to spend the day surrounded by family and loved ones—grateful for the love story God designed just for them.Their love and devotion for God and people is what started this story. Today we invite our family and most intimate friends as we honor Him and continue our mission as one. Together we share this day with our parents (Yolanda Cano-Almeida, Gigi Gonzalez, Octavio Salazar), our siblings, and 6 beautiful children (now young adults) Katelynn, Italee, Natalia, Jeremiah, Nicolette, Bella and remembering Pete Jr.

Please arrive with plenty of time for parking. There's a little bit of a walk (about 1/2 block) to the venue from the free parking garage. Additionally, there's plenty of free parking along the street, as well as by the Hemmens cultural center.
